Interpretation
Words with initial capital letters have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning whether they appear in singular or in plural.
Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
- Account means a unique account created for you to access our Service or parts of our Service.
- Affiliate means an entity that controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with a party.
- Application means the software program provided by the Company used by you on any electronic device, named JARS AI.
- Company ("we", "us", "our") refers to JARS AI Corporation.
- Country refers to the United States.
- Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, cellphone, or tablet.
- Personal Data means any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
- Service refers to the Application.
- Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes data on behalf of the Company.
- Usage Data means data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, session events or crash logs).
- UGC means user-generated content that you create, upload, or share through the Service (e.g., shows, episodes, captions, comments, profiles).
Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
Types of Data Collected
Personal Data
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you, including:
- Name, email address, username/handle;
- Age band or date of birth (to enforce eligibility requirements);
- Profile information you choose to provide (bio, avatar).
Content & Public Activity
When you create or share UGC (e.g., shows, episodes, captions, comments, likes, follows), that content and associated metadata may be public by default within the Service. Thumbnails, creator names, and high-level performance stats may surface in feeds, search, or promotional placements.
Usage Data
Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service and can include:
- Device information (model, OS/version, language/locale, timezone, screen size), IP address, and app version;
- Event data (taps/clicks, feature exposures, session duration, watch time, creation/submit events), A/B test assignment and outcomes (e.g., via Statsig);
- Diagnostic data (crash logs, performance metrics).
When you access the Service by or through a mobile device, we may collect these categories specific to mobile usage.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies for authentication, analytics, performance, personalization, and (if applicable) attribution. You can control cookies via browser settings and control mobile tracking via OS settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking" / "Allow Apps to Request to Track").
Inferences
We may create inferences about you to personalize your experience, such as recommended content, creator performance summaries, or safety/abuse risk signals used for moderation and fraud prevention.
Push Notifications & Marketing Signals
We collect push tokens to send notifications and track email engagement (opens/clicks) to understand communication effectiveness. You may opt out at any time (see "Your Choices").
Payments
If you make purchases or subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play, we receive limited billing metadata from those platforms. We do not store your full payment card details.
Sources of Personal Data
- Directly from you (account setup, profile, feedback, communications).
- Automatically via your use of the Service (events, diagnostics).
- From Service Providers (analytics, crash reporting, messaging).
- From app stores and attribution providers (install/referral metadata), where applicable.
Use of Your Personal Data
The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain our Service, including to operate core features, host UGC, and monitor usage.
- To manage your Account, including authentication, profiles, and preferences.
- To personalize and improve the Service, including recommendations, ranking, and creator analytics.
- To measure performance and run experiments, including A/B testing and feature flagging (e.g., via Statsig).
- To communicate with you, including transactional messages, product updates, creator performance summaries, and customer support.
- Marketing communications, including news, offers, and events similar to those you use today; you can opt out at any time.
- Push notifications, including creator performance summaries and updates; you can turn these off in-app or in your OS settings.
- Safety, security, and integrity, including content moderation, spam/fraud prevention, enforcing our Terms and Community Guidelines, and protecting users.
- Compliance and legal obligations, including responding to lawful requests and establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims.
- Business transfers, such as evaluating or conducting a merger, acquisition, or financing.
- Other purposes, such as data analysis, usage trends, and improving our Service, products, and marketing.
Sharing Your Personal Data
We may share your personal information in the following situations:
- With Service Providers: We share data with vendors that help us operate the Service (e.g., cloud hosting/CDN, analytics like Statsig, crash reporting, anti-abuse, email/push providers, customer support tools).
- With Affiliates: We may share with our affiliates, who must honor this Policy.
- With business partners: To offer features, integrations, or promotions (only where appropriate and consistent with this Policy).
- Public by design: Content you publish may be visible to other users and may be discoverable via feeds, search, or promotional placements.
- For business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- For legal reasons: To comply with law, enforce our agreements and policies, protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, users, or the public, or to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
- With your consent: We may share for any other purpose with your explicit consent.
- California "sale"/"sharing" disclosure: We do not sell your Personal Data for money. If we engage in activities that constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, you will have the right to opt out (see "Your Privacy Rights" below).
Retention of Your Personal Data
We retain Personal Data for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and for safety/abuse investigations. Usage logs and analytics are retained for shorter periods unless needed for security, product improvement, or legal reasons. UGC you publish may persist unless you delete it or your account, subject to backups and safety/legal holds.
Transfer of Your Personal Data
Your information may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where we or our Service Providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses). By using the Service, you consent to such transfers, subject to applicable law.
Disclosure of Your Personal Data
- Business Transactions: If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your Personal Data may be transferred; we will provide notice where required.
- Law Enforcement / Legal Requests: We may disclose your Personal Data as required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
- Other Legal Requirements: We may disclose Personal Data to comply with legal obligations; protect and defend our rights or property; prevent or investigate wrongdoing; protect user or public safety; or protect against legal liability.
Security of Your Personal Data
We use commercially reasonable physical, administrative, and technical safeguards (e.g., encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, least-privilege practices). However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided Personal Data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action. If we learn we collected Personal Data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it. For users 13–17, parental/guardian consent may be required in certain jurisdictions.
Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Communication Preferences
- Email: Click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email or adjust settings in the app (where available).
- Push Notifications: Turn off in your device OS or in-app settings.
- Cookies/Tracking: Manage via browser or device settings; some features may not function without essential cookies/SDKs.
Access, Correction, Deletion
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your Personal Data. We may require you to verify your identity.
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to:
- Request to know the categories and specific pieces of Personal Data we have collected about you;
- Request deletion of your Personal Data;
- Request correction of inaccurate Personal Data;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Data (if applicable);
- Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive Personal Data (if we collect such data);
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
If we engage in "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, you may opt out via an in-app control or a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link (where provided). We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required.
EEA/UK/Swiss Residents (GDPR)
Depending on your location, you may have rights to: access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Do Not Track
Your browser may offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. There is no industry consensus on how to respond to DNT; we currently do not respond to DNT signals. We will honor GPC where required by law.

Our Service may contain links to other websites not operated by us. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new Policy on this page and update the "Last revised" date. Where required, we will also provide additional notice (e.g., in-app or by email). Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective signifies your acceptance.
